KMC Controls plans to launch a suite of products and services on industry leaders’ partner platforms to connect building automation systems to the Internet of Things (IoT)!
KMC Controls, a leader in building automation systems, today announced collaboration two unnamed industry giants to market an advanced set of cloud-based facility monitoring, analytic, and control solutions for the small building segment. The unnamed firms will be privately demonstrating the new technology at the AHR Expo in Chicago, Illinois from January 26th to 28th.
The system pairs silicon, which features embedded security and a software stack optimized for edge device management, with an IoT Gateway. A cloud-based analytics and visualization engine developed by RiptideIO augments the physical components to form the core of the new platform. The result is a revolutionary IoT edge appliance and mobile service developed specifically for building automation application.
“Our work with the two industry leaders along with RiptideIO has given us the opportunity to break new ground in technological terms and to open up an entirely new market segment [small buildings],” says Dave Bohlmann, KMC’s vice president of technology. “Until now, a scalable, secure, and cost-effective solution for small buildings developed on an open platform hasn’t been a reality. Technological advancements now allow us to completely change the game and disrupt the market.”
KMC will be exhibiting its new technology in the KMC Controls booth (#3636) from January 26th to 28th, 2015. Parties interested in seeing the demonstration and meeting with the development team may contact KMC Controls at www.kmccontrols.com.
